Privacy policy

The short version: NUKEEZ collects nothing. The long version is mostly a list of things it doesn't do.

Effective date: 30 September 2026. This policy covers the NUKEEZ app for iPhone and iPad, and this website.

The short version

  • NUKEEZ doesn't collect any data about you. Nothing from the app is ever sent to us.
  • No accounts, no servers, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party SDKs.
  • Multiplayer happens only between devices on your local Wi-Fi network.
  • Voice chat is optional and off unless your crew turns it on. Your voice never leaves your local network.
  • Your saves stay on your device. If you use iCloud, a copy also syncs through your own iCloud account to your own devices. We never see it.
  • No in-app purchases.
  • On the App Store, the NUKEEZ privacy label says Data Not Collected.

1. Who we are

NUKEEZ is made by an independent developer (“we” and “us” on this page). This policy covers the NUKEEZ app for iPhone and iPad, and this website at nukeez.com (and nukeez.app).

2. What stays on your device

When you play, NUKEEZ saves these things in the app's own storage on your iPhone or iPad:

  • your Nukee: the name you type, its colour and what it's wearing;
  • your progress: doughnuts, stars, hats, hired crew and the plants you've unlocked;
  • your settings: music, sounds, microphone mute and the difficulty dial.

None of it is ever sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it from that device.

3. iCloud sync (your own devices only)

If your device is signed in to iCloud, NUKEEZ keeps a copy of your save in your own iCloud account, using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. That way your iPhone, your iPad, a new phone or a reinstall can all pick up where you left off.

  • The copy travels only between your devices and your iCloud account, which Apple runs. It never comes to us, and we can't see, read or delete it.
  • It holds your Nukee, your progress and your difficulty setting. Music, sounds, microphone mute and the Game film switch stay on each device. It never includes game film or anything to do with voice.
  • With iCloud off, or with no one signed in, NUKEEZ is a purely local game and plays exactly the same.
  • To stop syncing, open the settings cog on the title screen and switch iCloud sync off.
  • Because the copy lives in your iCloud, deleting the app doesn't delete it. That's what lets a reinstall pick up your progress. Apple's privacy policy covers how Apple stores iCloud data.

4. Playing together: your local network only

  • Devices on the same Wi-Fi find each other with a short “hello” broadcast, then connect directly. If that doesn't work, a player can type the host's 4-digit join code. The code is just the host's local Wi-Fi address, written short. No server is involved.
  • During a game, the devices swap only what the game needs: moves, button presses, what's happening in the plant, and the name, colour and look each player chose for their Nukee. It stays between the devices in that game on your local network. None of it goes over the internet, and none of it comes to us.
  • iOS asks for Local Network permission for this. NUKEEZ uses it for nothing else. You can turn it off at any time in Settings › NUKEEZ, and you can still play alone.

5. Voice chat (microphone): optional, off by default

  • NUKEEZ has optional proximity voice chat for crews who aren't in the same room: you hear a crewmate louder the closer their Nukee stands to yours. It's off unless the host switches it on with the radio in the Break Room.
  • When it's on, your device sends sound from its microphone while you're talking. The sound goes live to the other devices in your game over your local Wi-Fi (through the host's device). It's played as it arrives, then thrown away. It's never recorded or saved, never put in game film, and never sent over the internet or to us.
  • iOS asks for your permission before NUKEEZ can use the microphone. You can say no and still play normally. You can mute yourself any time with the microphone badge, or turn microphone access off in Settings › NUKEEZ.

6. Game film (stays on the hosting device)

The device that hosts a shift can save a “game film” of it to its own storage. It's a replay of the shift: the Nukee names and colours, where everyone moved, which controls were used and what appeared in the crew's speech bubbles. It has no voice or other sound, and nothing about you beyond the names used in the game.

Game film is never uploaded, never synced to iCloud and never sent to us, and deleting the app deletes it. It's on unless you turn it off: open the settings cog on the title screen and switch off Game film.

7. What NUKEEZ doesn't have

  • No accounts or sign-in.
  • No servers of ours. The game never contacts us.
  • No ads, no analytics and no crash-reporting tools.
  • No tracking, and no third-party SDKs.
  • No in-app purchases.
  • No access to your location, contacts, photos or camera.

8. Apple's part

You buy NUKEEZ on the App Store, and Apple handles the payment. We receive sales totals from Apple, never your name or payment details.

If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. That's Apple's feature, and you can switch it on or off in that setting. NUKEEZ itself adds nothing to it.

9. Children

NUKEEZ is rated 9+ on the App Store. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children. The only thing a player types is their Nukee's name. That name is shown only on the devices in their game, and on their own devices if iCloud sync is on. There are no ads and no way to meet people online. Only devices on the same Wi-Fi network can join a game.

10. This website

nukeez.com and nukeez.app have no cookies, no analytics, no trackers, no ads, and nothing loaded from other companies. Even the font is served from this site.

Like every website, the service that hosts these pages may keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure. We don't use them to track anyone.

11. If you email us

If you write to support@nukeez.com, we receive your email address and whatever you put in your message. We use them only to reply to you. We never share them, and we never add you to a mailing list. We delete them once they're no longer needed.

12. Your choices

We don't collect data, so we hold nothing about you to show you, correct or delete. Everything NUKEEZ keeps is on your devices or in your iCloud, and you control it:

  • delete the app to delete its data on that device;
  • switch off iCloud sync and Game film in the settings cog on the title screen;
  • switch Local Network and Microphone access on or off in Settings › NUKEEZ.

If you've emailed us and want your email deleted sooner, just ask.

13. Changes

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If an update ever changed what NUKEEZ does with data, we'd say so clearly in its App Store release notes, too.
